Pair’d is a fresh and globally minded addition to the Australian culinary calendar – a five-day celebration of food, wine, music and storytelling, held in one of the country’s most iconic regions. Curated through the lens of a sommelier, the festival was designed to position Margaret River as a destination for high-value travellers, bringing together producers, creatives, and audiences in a way that felt both elevated and deeply local. In partnership with Mellen Events, We Are Gather led the strategy, creative, curation, partnerships, production and full-scale delivery of the inaugural event. From project green light to public launch in just 16 weeks, we built the brand, developed the program, and delivered an experience that felt immersive, intentional, and uniquely Margaret River.
The experience
Pair’d delivered more than 30 curated events across 26 venues –ranging from luxe beachside gatherings to after-dark hawker markets and DJ-led vineyard takeovers. Highlights included the Grand Tasting presented by Singapore Airlines, Margarets Beach Club, New Wave Gathering featuring Attica’s Ben Shewry, and a sunset set by Alex James (Blur) paired with crayfish rolls and Chardonnay. The festival closed with Pair’d Back, a free community street party in the heart of Margaret River –anchoring the weekend in local pride and shared celebration. Every detail was matched with intent. Every moment crafted to connect.
Pair’d brought the region to life – delivering economic value, local pride, and international attention, while laying the groundwork for Margaret River’s continued rise as a world-class wine and culinary destination.
